Helge 2 of the 2024 TGA Award for the Best Men’s Game and the Best Operating Game Award, was recently subjected to “bad bombing” by the player again because of operational problems.

In Steam, the most recent evaluation of “Hellguard 2” was “a bad rating” and the overall good rating of the game was “More than good.” The developers Arrowhead published a post on Steam, Reddit and Discord, trying to salvage the game, which not only failed to calm down the anger of the players, but also provoked more players. The Arrowhead studio wrote in its bulletin: “We have been following your feedback over the past few days and heeding the discussion in the Hellsguard 2 community. Hellguard II is important to all of us, and we would like to have a clearer picture of our next plan. In addition to new elements, we have focused on improving the core of the game — stability, progress and the Milky Way war.”

Overall, Arrowhead stressed that, in addition to improving the core content of the game, a whole new content would be introduced. The Arrowhead studio indicated that the current focus was on improving the meta-play progress system and the Galaxy war. Arrowhead adds: “We have significantly expanded our team in this area, which reflects the importance of the long-term system for the overall game experience of players.” A large version of 6.2.2 was released on 28 April. While two biological communities have been added to the surface, the unacceptable “coloural fine-tuning” of weapons, strategic equipment and enemy data by players has directly triggered long-suffering community sentiment. In response to allegations of arms diversion, Arrowhead stated that patches had shown that some of the changes “were not communicated with the clarity we expected” and that they were therefore “working on how to explain the balance update more clearly”.

Players point out that the workroom’s balancing strategy is always “slapping a palm”, and that if the player tastes a little sweet, the other three things will inevitably be weakened. Recent patches have not only made uncalled-for negative fine-tuning of some cold-door pistols/micro-stamps, but have also added to a series of extremely destructive mechanisms, such as “airlock-manipulated locks”, which have led to meaningless frustrations at high-proffic levels. In particular, Exo Experts, a new pay-for-war bond, containing two new armors, is ugly when the player is sick. Arrowhead responded that the objective of the exoskeletal expert was “to create a well-themed and attractive work” and that the existing armour itself was too fragile to function. Arrowhead has increased all armour durability in patches issued in tandem with war bonds.

However, some players still believe that there is an excessive imbalance between what is free and what is paid for in the current update. There are now as many as 23 $10-denominated war bonds in the game. When the new player enters the game, he sees the pay page, which is extremely poor. Arrowhead stated that they had “seen the player’s feedback”, but did not admit any error. On the contrary, Arrowhead stated that they wanted “to find the right balance between what war bonds contain and what is available in the game” and stressed that Hellguard 2 would also launch other vehicles, and that players could unlock them without buying war bonds.

As for the reaction of the player to the official response, one or two of the good ratings of the game is that the player believes that the response of Arrowhead is empty. In fact, during a recent online question-and-answer session on Reddit, the studio master did not respond positively to the time when the ancient Bugs were being repaired, but instead struck Tai Tai in an extremely arrogant and perfunctory tone. This attitude of “teaching players to play” has provoked core opinion leaders and central and foreign players, leading to a large number of Discord and Steam players organizing this poor evaluation. The launch of Hellsguard 2 in 2024 had been a remarkable success, but the forced binding of the PSN account had triggered the first wave of major memorial crises. Over the following two years, Arrowhead operated in a full-scale manner, placing the slogan of the game as if it were a roller coaster. Despite the many operational crises, the Hell 2 is still one of the hottest multiplayers in Steam, even though the number of players is far short of what it was at its inception.
